"Back on Track " Review - August 24th
The Sun was shining and the day hot as all the riders knew it was going to be a long day as they had three races to run for the race day that was cancelled due to the death of our young Talented Toriano Wilson. Everyone was motivated and geared up win!!
Mini Bike Junior
Taznae Fubler #11 rode race one in good form and took the checkered flag to take the win in her class but was unable to go out in race two and three.
Mini Bike Open
Chare Smith #22 was getting tired of looking at the back tires of Caisey #45 and Shae Darell #2 so when the green flag went down in all three races, Smith #22 came from behind when it counted and won all three races hands down leaving Jazari Caisey #45 to finish second in all three races and Shae Darrell #2 settling for the third position in all three races.
GP 70
In race one, it seemed like it was going to be Markeen Simmons #91 but on the last lap it was all Jones Jr. #9 who took the win in race one leaving Simmons #91 to settle for second and Koshun Durrant #5 getting third place points. In Race two, Jones Jr. #9 took the lead and held it for 8 out of the 10 laps but Simmons #91 got him back and took the win leaving Jones Jr. #9 to have to settle for second and the youngest in the Class, Jazari Caisey #45 finishing in third. In race three, Simmons #91 was not playing as he took the lead from lap one and the win with Jones Jr. #9 again settling in second and Durrant #5 bringing home the third place.
GP 80
In all three races, Zain Philpott #66 ran away with the win as he took the checked flag with ease. His closest competitor was Gerald Saltus #88 who finished second in race one and three and Keanu Wilson #46 finished second in race two. Cody Sousa Saints #21 finished third in race one and three and Gerald Saltus #88 finished third in race two. Scooter Open
With John Cook #2 unable to make race day, he felt to him get that much closer to a championship and to keep Jonny Cabral #28 out of first place points, he would send brother Ed who has not raced for most of the season to compete with the rest of the scooter class. His Plan worked, in Race one Cabral #28 held the lead for only a couple of laps then Ed Cook #2 took the lead and the win leaving Cabral #28 in second and Jeneko Place #110 in third.
In race 2, Cook #2 lead from lap one and took the win with Cabral #28 finishing second and Ricky Wade #20 bringing home the third place.
In Race 3, Cabral #28 took the lead in lap 8 and held it through nine but on the last corner of the last lap Cabral #28 and Cook #2 were side by side and Cook #2 pulled out to take the win again leaving Cabral #28 to settle for second and Place #110 settling for third.
GP 125
In Race one, Andrew DeCosta #33 at the end of lap one was in 5 position but by lap 8 made his way to the front of the pack overtaking Zain Philpott #166 and Robert Devent #24 and took the win leaving Philpott #166 to take second and DeVent #24 to finish in third.
Race two Philipott #166 had the lead for the first three laps then Devent #24 took over and held the lead until the last lap when DeCosta was at it again, taking the lead from Devent #24 and the checkered flag leaving Devent #24 to finish second and Philpott #166 to finish in third. Race three had more action as Philpott #166 took the lead and held on to it for seven laps but there was no stopping DeCosta #33 as he was at it again taking the lead on lap 8 and securing first place points with Philpott #166 in second and DeVent #24 finishing third.
Formula
In Race one, Chris Alves #38 managed to hold onto the lead for one lap that Billy Dunn #22 took the lead on the second lap and pulled away to take the win with ease leaving Alves #38 to finish in second and Ed Cook #2 finishing in third on his 70cc scooter.
Race two, Alves #38 took off again and lead the first lap with Cook #2 taking the lead in lap two and three but there was no stopping Dunn #22 again as he took the lead and the win leaving Cook #2 to finish in second and Perry DeSilva #49 finishing in third position.
Race three Dunn #22 took the lead from lap one and never looked back as he took the win with Ed Cook #2 hot on his back finishing in second and and DeSilva #49 again finishing in third position.
Superbike
Race one has Shannon Caisey #111 take the lead in race one and pull away to take the win with ease leaving the others to battle for second and third. David Jones Sr. #9 finished in second position and Paul DeCouto #1 took third place points. In race two, DeCouto #1 took the lead but was only able to hold it for two laps as Caisey #111 was at it again and took the lead in lap three and the win leaving DeCouto #1 to finish in second and Jones. Sr. #9 securing third position.
In Race three, everyone thought it was going to be a different story as DeCouto #1 lead nine of the ten laps but it was not over as Caisey #111 took the lead on the second last corner and secured himself first place points again leaving DeCouto #1 to finish in second and David Jones #9 taking home another third place podium finish.

Cycle Care "Festival of Speed" Race Review - June 15th
The father's day "Festival of Speed " motorcycle racing event which was held on June 15, 2008 was sponsored by Cycle Care . The event was a showcase of international talent of Rhiannon Lucente, AMA Pro Rider.
GP 125
As the bikes rolled out and they completed the first lap of the first race it was all Cyril Whitter #17 with Leroy Trott #6 in second and Bruce DeGrilla #18 in third. This is the way it stayed until lap seven when Andrew DeCosta #33 took third from DeGrilla #18 with a mission to catch the front runners. On lap eight he took second from Trott #6 but could not get close enough to Whitter #17. By lap eleven, DeGrilla #18 took the third spot from Trott #6. So as the checkered flag went down it was Whitter #17 in first place with DeCosta #33 in second and Bruce DeGrilla #18 finishing up in third.
Race two had only ten laps and Whitter #17 decided he would try his luck starting in the last position on the grid. By the end of the first Lap, Decosta #33 had the lead and held on to it for five laps but by lap 6, again it was all Whitter #17 taking the lead and holding it down to take the checkered flag leaving DeCosta #33 another strong second finish and Bruce DeGrilla #18 in third.
Scooter Open
Race one John Cook #77 lead the first lap. By the end of the first lap, Neville Darrell #6 held second and Jeneko Place #110 was in third with Jonny Cabral #28 holding fourth spot and Ricky Wade #20 in fifth. By lap 4, Jonny Cabral #28 took third from Place #110 and second spot from Darrell #6 in lap seven with a mission to catch Cook #77. On Lap nine Place #110 passed Darrell #6 to take third but could not hold it as lap 10 Darrell #6 rounded the outside and took third position again. As the checkered flag came down, it was Cook #77 and Cabral #28 just slightly back on his inside but Cook's #77 tire crossed just before Cabral #28 leaving him to secure second place points and Darrell #6 bringing home third.
Race two had only ten laps and as Cabral #28 would take the lead on the corners it was always Cook #77 on the straightaways so as they rounded the corner with Cabral #28 leading it was all Cook #77 who shot cross Cabral #28 and take the win with Cabral #28 again securing second place points and Jeneko Place #110 holding third place from lap one.
Superbike
Once the green flag went down off they roared but on the first corner Rhianon Lucente, a rider from the the U.S. riding the #9 bike of David Jones got excited and went down causing the flag to go up and restart to the first race. As the green went down again, Caisey #111 took the lead in the first corner and held it for 3 laps but up came DeCouto #1 who took the lead on lap four with Stephen Paynter #7 watching closely in third. As lap seven roared on a mishap with Caisey's #111 bike caused him to drop to fifth position allowing Paynter #7 to move into second and Daniels #95 to move into third and Edmund Furbert #6 to slide up to fourth. The positions stayed the same till the last lap where Caisey #111 was able to pass Furbert #6. So as the checkered flag went down it was Paul DeCouto #1 in first, with Stephen Paynter #7 finishing second and Ed Daniels #95 finishing a solid third.
Due to an accident on the 4 th lap in race two with Gerald Saltus, the second race was cancelled because the ambulance left to take him to the hospital. The second race will be held first on Sunday June 29th.
Formula
In race one Jason Stowe #23 held down first position for the first eight laps but as each lap finished Billy Dunn #22 picked him down until he took the lead in lap nine and never looked back to take the checkered flag leaving Stowe to settle for the second place finish and Chris Alves #38 holding the third spot on the podium.
Race two started out as the race belonging to Chris Alves #38. As the flag went down Alves #38 took the lead and held 8 out of the 10 laps but as he continued to look behind him, he lost his line causing Dunn #22 to pass him with Stowe #23 right behind him so as the checkered flag went down Billy Dunn #22 took the win with Jason Stowe #23 finishing in second and Chris Alves #38 having to settle for the third spot.
Mini GP 70
As the 70's and 80's rolled out together Wytiko Showers #21who rides in the 70 class took the lead on lap 6 over the 70's and the 80's causing him to be the winner over all and the winner in the 70 cc class in the first race. Masala Pace #26 bought it home safe in second place with Koshun Durrant #5 securing himself the third place points.
Race two Wytiko Showers #21 held 4 th position overall but was first in the 70cc class again with ease leaving Masala Pace #26 to again finish in second spot and Koshun Durrant #5 securing himself the third place finish.
Mini GP80
As the green flag dropped Cook #77 took off like a rocket with the 70 cc class all in the mix. But he did not let that stop him as he rode hard to make sure and take the checkered flag and first place points in race number one with Cody Sousa Saints #21 giving another strong performance finishing second and Jonae Smith #7 holding up the third spot.
Race two belonged to Aaron Persad #35 for the first seven laps but everyone was on a mission as Jonae Smith #7 who held second from the first lap picked Persad #35 down slowly until lap eight she took the lead but Cook #77 who had been watching the battle knew he had to make his move as these to pushed back and forth cross each other. Out came the white flag and Cook #77 pushed the bike to the max and on the last couple of corners closed in and passed Jonae Smith #7 to take the win leaving Smith 37 to settle for second and Aaron Persad #35 came home third.
Mini Bike Open
As this class is under protest and won't be resolved until the meeting on June 29 th , no write ups will be posted.

Esso "Gasoline Grand Prix" Race Review - June 1st 2008
GP 70cc Class
Race one has Wytiko Showers #21 take the lead and pull away but a crash on lap seven by young Koshun Durrant #5 caused the red flag to raise and the riders battling it out with a ten lap shoot out. As they took off again, Showers #21 took the lead with David Jones Jr. #9 battling hard back and forth with Keanu Wilson #79 but as Jones #9 saw the white flag go up it was throttle all the way as he took the second place podium leaving Wilson #79 to settle for the third place finish.
Race two again was an easy victory for Showers #21 as he took the checkered flag long before the rest of the riders and the top gift voucher from Esso. Jones Jr. #9 definitely stepped it up in the second race as he held on two the second place spot the whole 15 laps leaving Wilson #79 riding hard but not hard enough as he had to settle for the third place podium finish and certificate.
GP 80cc Class
As the green flag went down all hands were on deck as John Cook #77 took the lead on lap two and pulled away from the rest of the pack leaving them to battle it out as he secured himself a first place finish with ease. Zain Philpott #66 held on to the second place for ten laps until Jonae Smith #7 picked at him and caught and passed him on lap 11. She was only able to hold it for two laps as young Philpott #66 passed her again and never looked back as he took the second place finish leaving Smith #7 to have to settle for third spot.
Race two was another situation as Cook #77 took the lead from lap one but held it only for five laps. Smith #7 passed Cook #77 at the start of lap 6 and pulled away taking the win and top certificate with ease leaving him to battle hard but not too hard as the last lap approached and he knew he could not catch her, slowed it up a bit unaware that Cody Sousa-Saints #21 was pushing his bike to the max to get to Cook #77 and as they rounded the last corner and on to the straight way they came it was Saints #21 passing Cook #77 to finish in second leaving Cook #77 to take the third place finish and certificate.
Mini Bike Jr.
It was all Taznae Fubler #11 as she rode with the Mini bike open class. As she is the only entrant in the junior class, finished with a first place in race one and two and secured herself the top podium spot and first place price.
Mini Bike Open
Race one had Shae Darrell #2 take the lead but only for one lap as young Caisey #45 rode with perseverance and intention as he took the lead in lap two never to look back as the checkered flag belonged to him in race one leaving Darrell #2 to settle for second and Chare Smith #22 taking third place from Brandon Simmons #1 on lap 4.
Race two has Caisey #45 lead lap one and then Darrell #2 taking lap two and three but Caisey #45 was not having that and took the lead again for the next two laps but again Darrell #2 came back and took the lead for laps six and seven but Caisey #45 knew it was close to the end and rode the wheels off the bike as he passed Darrell #2 on lap 8 then pulled away to take the checkered flag leaving Darrell #2 settling for the second place podium spot and Brandon Simmons #1 who had rode strong the whole race from lap one in third and secured himself the third place spot.
Scooter Class
By the end of Lap one in the first race it was all John Cook #77 in the lead with Cabral #28 in second, Jeneko Place #110 in third and Neville Darrell #6 in forth and Ricky Wade #20 in fifth. By lap three Darrell #6 had taken third from Place #110 and was on the hunt of the front runners. On lap five Cabral #28 slid out on the sweeper leaving the door open for Darrell #6 to chase down and catch Cook #77. They battled side by side for the remaining laps but it was Cook #77 by a tire to take the win in race one with Darrell #6 finishing in second and Jeneko Place #110 again securing himself the third place points.
Race two had John Cook #77 take the lead again for the first three laps but Darrell #6 caught up and passed him on lap 4 taking the lead for the following three laps. Cabral #28 who started last in race two picked them down one by one and the last corner of lap seven took the lead from Darrell #6 with Cook #77 right on Cabral #28's back wheel and moved his way into second position. But on lap nine Darrell #6 and Cook #77 who had been riding side by side left Cook #77 to go wide and slide into the fence leaving Darrell #6 to take second and chase down Cabral #28 but it was not enough as Cabral #28 took the win and the top Esso gas certificate with Darrell #6 finishing with second place finish and prize and Jeneko Place #110 sticking close and finishing third place on the podium.
Formula Class
Billy Dunn #22 had no competition in race one or two as he took the lead in lap one and lead the whole fifteen laps to victory and the checkered flag. Jason Stowe #23 who had him in his sights just could not get close enough and had to settle for second place. Chris Alves #38, who had not been feeling up to par still managed to finish the race and took home third place points in the first race. In the second race, Alves #38 chose not to take a chance and ride with him not feeling well and the bike not up to racing standards.
GP 125 Class
Both Race one and two showed Cyril Whitter #17 had no competition as he took the lead in lap one and pulled away from the rest of the pack to take both wins and the top Esso prize. This left Bruce Degrilla Jr. #18 and Andrew DeCosta #33 to battle hard in the first and second races to see who would be standing on the second place podium position. DeGrilla #18 held on to the second place position for over half of the race but DeCosta #33 proved that DeGrilla #18 was no match for him as he powered cross him with only a few laps to go secure himself the second place podium spot in race one and two leaving DeGrilla #18 to bring home the third place prize.
Superbike Class
As the 600 class is now the biggest class on the grid, they have proven to be the most exciting as 10 monsters came rolling out on the track to take their positions for the first race. Down went the flag in race one with all 10 bikes racing to the first corner side by side but as they approached the end of the first lap it was all David Jones Sr. #9 who lead all 15 laps and the win. Shannon Caisey #111 held on to second for the first two laps but Stephen Paynter #7 saw red and took second place from Caisey #111 on lap three and rode hard to take the second place prize and spot on the podium leaving Caisey #111 to receive third place points.
In race two Caisey #111 was not going to settle for the second position and by the first corner had pulled to the lead. He lead all 15 laps and took the top position on the podium and the big esso prize. Paynter #7 was only able to hold onto second for two laps until DeCouto #1 took second from him shuffling Paynter #7 back to third. DeCouto #1 slowly picked inches away from first place Caisey #111 but it was not enough and DeCouto #1 had to settle for second place on the podium. Third place had not been settled as Jones #9 took over the position from Paynter #7 on lap 7 and continued in third until he took the checkered flag and third position on the podium. Paynter #7 had to settle for the fourth spot.

Jason Stowe #23 battled back and forth with Chris Alves #38 for the second and third position but by the time the checkered flag went down it was Stowe #23 who secured the second place leaving Alves #38 to come home third.
Race two had Stowe #23 take the lead for the first three laps but again Dunn #22 took the lead in lap four and pulled away to secure the first place finish leaving Jason Stowe #23 to have to settle for the second place finish. The third race was a trophy race and everything was up for grabs. Alves #38 was in the lead for the first two laps but Stowe #23 was not having it as he took the lead on lap 3 and pulled away to take the win and first place trophy. Paul DeCouto #1 highsided on lap 3 which left him with his first DNF and the door open for Bryce Place #10 and David Jones Sr. #9 to battle for the second and third spots. Place #10 held second spot laps 4 through 7 then Jones Sr. #9 took over for the next two but it was all Place #10 who passed Jones #9 and secured himself the second place finish leaving Jones #10 to settle for third.
Race two was set up the same way with the more experienced riders starting at the back and new comers to the track at the front. As the green flag went down in race number one, Mannie Smith #7 experience showed them how its done as he took the lead in the first lap and pulled out far enough that know one could catch him. He secured the first place finish with ease. This left the door open for youngters, Andrew DeCosta #33 and Robert Devent #24 to battle hard for the second and third position, and hard they did. On the very last lap Devent #24 and DeCosta #33 were side by side, wheel on wheel, when Devent #24 went to close to the rumble strip and down he went leaving DeCosta #33 to take the second place spot and Leroy Trott #6 who had been riding close behind the two youngster battling it out sailed past and secured the third place finish.
Race two was a bit different with Smith #7 going down in the first lap and Whitter who was 4 th at the start of the first lap took the lead on lap two never to look back. As he pulled away, Andrew DeCosta #33 held on two the second position lap 3 through 9 but Smith #7 picked away slowly at the pack and on lap 9 took second position from DeCosta #33 to finish second on the podium leaving DeCosta #33 to settle for third spot.

Mini GP 70
In Race One Wytiko Showers #21 crossed the finish line in first place and with ease as his closest competition was Markeem Simmons #91 who was hot on his wheels but could not get close enough and had to settle for second place. In Race one John Cook #22 took the lead and pulled away for the first 7 laps but veteran to the scooter class, Neville Darrell #6 knew he had to work fast and picked away at the other riders until he got in second position on lap seven and waited for the right moment as he rounded Cook #22 on the corner and took the lead and the win. This is Darrell #6 first win in the scooter class. Good Work!!! Cook #22 finished in the second position and Jeneko Place #110; the youngest scooter rider took the third place finish.
Race two had Cook #22 again take the lead and held it for the first six laps and Darrell #6 was at it again as he took the lead from Cook #22 on lap seven. As Taznae Fubler #11 is the only bike in the mini bike junior class, she crossed the line and secured herself a first place finish in race one and two.
In the Mini Bike open Class, Brandon Simmons #1 held the lead for the first four laps in race one but Shae Darrell #2 took him on the straight away and was able to hold Simmons #1 off to take the win leaving Simmons #1 to settle for second and newcomer to the track Chare Smith #22 secured himself a strong third place finish.
In Race two, young Caisey #45 saw gold and took the lead in lap two never looking back to secure himself first place on the podium stand with Shae Darrell #2 taking second and again young Chare Smith #22 securing himself a third place trophy.
GP 70 cc Class
Wytiko Showers #21 took the lead in the first lap in both race one and two, with no competition in sight and secured himself a win in the first race, and the win and first place trophy in the second race. David Jones Jr., #9 rode hard and strong, but it was not enough and had to settle for second in the first race with another new comer and young lady, Marsala Pace #26 finishing in the third position in race one.
With Wytiko Showers #21 securing his first place trophy with ease from lap one in the second race left it up to everyone else to catch him. Markeem Simmons #91 gave a good effort to catch his team mate, but did not quite make it and was happy to stand on the second place podium spot and receive his second place trophy. While Young Koshun Durrant #5 has moved up to this class from the mini bike class, gave a command performance as he rode hard and secured himself a third place trophy and spot on the podium.
GP 80 cc Class
In the first race, Zain Philpott #66 and Jonae Smith #7 battled back and forth for the first seven laps but with Smith's #7 bike acting up gave Philpott #66 the chance to pull away and secure the win in race one. New comer to the track and finishing with a strong second place was Gerald Saltus #88 leaving Smith #7 to settle for third position.
In race two, Philpott #66 took the lead from lap one and never looked back as he secured the win and first place trophy. Another strong ride put on my new comer Gerald Saltus #88 secured him the second place trophy and Jonae Smith #7 finished in the third position.
Scooter Class
Even though it was only three bikes in the scooter class, excitement still ran high as John Cook #22 and Jonny Cabral #28 battled hard as Cook #22 took the lead in race one and held on for seven laps. Cabral #28 took lap 8 and Cook #22 took laps 9 and 10. By lap 11 Cabral #28 took the lead again but Cook #22 pushed hard as he saw the checkered being raised and crossed the finish line in front of Cabral #28 by less than a foot. Place #110 broke down in the first lap and had to be taken off the track.
Race two had Cook #22 leading again for the first five laps but Cabral #28 knew what had to be done to beat the experience and quickness of Cook #22. On Lap 6 Cabral #28 took the lead again and with control and speed was able to pull away from Cook #22 and secure his first official win and top spot on the podium leaving Cook #22 taking home the second place trophy and Jeneko Place #110, the youngest in the scooter class securing himself the third place spot.
GP 125 Class
The GP 125 class has quite a few riders coming in from other classes. Devon "Red" Bailey #100 showed them that no matter what he rides, he's going to win. Even though Leroy Trott #6 took off first and led for the first two laps, that did not last long as Bailey #100 took the lead in lap 3 in race number one and never looked back as he secured the first place finish in the first race. Andrew DeCosta #33 gave a command performance as he rode his 125 hard and on the tail of Bailey #100 as DeCosta #33 finished in the second position. Also new to the 125 Class is Bruce DeGrilla #18, last year's GP 70 Class champion, who also rode extremely well and crossed the checkered flag in the third position.
Race two showed Bailey #100 lead from lap one and pull away leaving everyone else to battle. Bailey #100 secured the win and first place trophy. By Lap 2 Bruce DeGrilla #18 was in second place and rode steady to take the second place trophy and podium spot. Robert DeVent #24 who also has just moved into the 125 Class is showing the older guys they have to work harder as DeVent #24 was in third position from lap two and was able to hold on to it to secure the third place trophy.
Formula Class
In Race one, Billy Dunn #22 took the lead in the first lap and that's where he stayed to secure the win. Jason Stowe #23 was hot on Dunn's back wheel but did not have quite enough to get cross him so he settled for a second place finish. While Ed Cook #22 who rode his 70 cc scooter showed them how it's done as he swerved and weaved in and out and around the others and secured himself the third place finish.
An accident between Visitor Tim and Kewaun "Fluff" Gilbert quickly brought the race to an end wth the second heat being postponed until May 18, 2008.
600 cc Class
Paul DeCouto #1 took off with Paynter #7 as they rode side by side into the first corner but because Paynter #7 jumped the green flag he was "meatballed" leaving DeCouto #1 to pull away from the rest of the pack and secured himself a first place finish with ease. Jevaughn Simons #25 moved into second place on the third lap and held it till he took the checkered flag with Shanon Caisey #111 taking third position from Ed Daniels on lap nine and securing himself the third place finish.
Because of the accident in Formula class, there were no ambulances there to assist should there be another accident so race two will be held on next race day.
Note: Both riders involved int the crash in the first heat of the Formula Class's race were taken to the hospital and released that evening. Although both riders were a bit bruised and sore, there were no major injuries.

It was a great start for the BMRC Club as its first official "points" race day revved on with the gloom and clouds finally drifting off so that racing could commence at 2:00 p.m. This race day was the Marvin "skinny" Robinson Memorial Race day with all racing done in memory of our lost Champion and friend. The flag flew at half mast and the pole position for the race and every race going forward in the 600 class will be left open for "skinny" as that was his spot to be racing in this season. Also at the half time break, the Long Rider's Club did two laps around the track to show that they too wanted to honor the Champion.

In race two they were at it again with Ed Cook #2 running away with the show but this time John Cook #77 raced hard to hold second until he decked out leaving the door open for Jonny Cabral #28 to overtake and pull away from John Cook #77 who jumped up and rode again but was not able to catch Cabral #28 but still managing to secure himself a third spot finish.

Let's keep this sport alive everyone, in memory of our friend "skinny" and the youngsters coming up to replace the older ones.
