Revving Up the 2016 Santa Clause Parade

The 2016 Santa Clause Parade featured the talent and style of Bermuda's top motorcycle riders with the BMRC joining forces to deliver some attention-grabbing routines and stunts to the festive crowd of spectators. This was the first time the BMRC participated in the annual event hosted by Marketplace which included an array of 25 different floats. The event, which helps to ring in the Christmas season, is scheduled to coincide with the lighting of the Christmas tree at City Hall and the opening of late night shopping in the city of Hamilton, typically landing on the last weekend in November.

Representing the Club and showing off their talent were our youth riders Nathaniel Binega-Northcott, Keimari Burchall, and Aiden Lopes, alongside veterans CJ Richardson and Sandy Benevides. The team showcased their breathtaking dime circles in front of the flag poles on Front Street, dragged their knees while encircling the bird cage in front of masses of amazed children, and energized the crowd with their own take on the worldwide mannequin challenge.

Taking a new spin on the traditional Christmas tree, the BMRC's float drew upon what we know best to bring our own vision of Christmas to life. A cheerful tire tree decked out with glittering helmets, motorcycles, and trophies stood proud with it's one of a kind star, hand-crafted from two glistening sprockets. Every little boy (and girl) had a glimpse into what Christmas morning - BMRC style - looks like with the dream gift of a PitsterPro motorcycle underneath the Christmas tree.

The positive energy and enthusiasm towards the BMRC along the entire parade route are all that's needed to ensure our return again next year. The only difference in our future appearance will be to give the crowd more of what they were cheering for - "bigger" and "faster"!
